Qaumi Watan Party

Qaumi Watan Party abbreviated as QWP is a Pakhtun neo-nationalist party working for rights of the Pashtuns of the entire region, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Afghanistan and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Earlier called “Pakistan Peoples Party–Sherpao” formally changed its name and manifesto on October 17, 2012.

Aftab Ahmad Sherpao “Milli Rehbar” and younger brother of Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao, is leading the torch for the rights of Pashtuns. During the 2013 elections the party secured one seat in National Assembly and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province it secured 10 seats in total, of which 8 were directly elected. This made the Qaumi Watan Party the fourth largest party in KPK.

Head office of party (Watan Core) is located in University Peshawar, Pakistan.
